Holi is quickly approaching, and while we are delighted about the holiday, there is also concern about skin problems caused by artificial colours and the irreversible damage to the environment which contain chemicals. These colours are known to induce allergies, skin irritation, and dryness. People use these colours because they are widely available and inexpensive. Now, there is a viable alternative.
Artificial colours are chemical and synthetic, harming you and nature and our surrounding environment. The colours that are drained are poisonous and harm the environment. Watercolours contain lead oxide, copper sulphate, aluminium, and mercury, whereas dry colours contain mica, silica, and lead. These substances are more harmful than beneficial.
So, does this mean we shouldn’t experiment with colours?
Even in ancient times, colours were used to celebrate Holi, but only “natural colours.” Yes, back then, they only utilised natural resources to manufacture colour powders that were harmless for the body and the environment and contained therapeutic characteristics.
Holi is about enjoying the arrival of Spring while avoiding damaging the environment. Let us commit to celebrating eco-friendly Holi from now on. We can enjoy the colour festival while still protecting the earth in this manner.
Isn’t that wonderful to know? Don’t you think we need to adjust to natural colours?
Let us naturally celebrate Holi this year and forever, not to harm us or our planet.
